i just got my 40" speaker stands. the spikes that came with these are VERY dull. but they're dull by design. the spikes that came with my paradigm speakers were very sharp and went through my carpet onto the wood floor and they're very solid feeling. are speaker stand spikes standard sized and if so, can i just buy some online somewhere to replace these dull jokers that came with my FS stands?

Hmmm something is strange as I own or owned the FS-60, FS-70 and FS-100's (your stands) and the bottom spikes are deadly sharp. These speakers come with two sets of spikes: the sharp tall spikes for the base and the dull ones for the top plate. Maybe it was mispackaged. I recently bought two Target amp stands and one was missing a metal gromet for the inverted spike for the shelf. The replacement amp stand used different spikes (thicker diameter) than my first complete stand.

How do you like those Target stands so far? Did you get them from Audio advisor?

they seem pretty good and i did buy them from audio advisor. i need to check though and see if they were supposed to have sharp spikes for the bottom. it definately wasn't in the package.

i just sent audio advisor so hopefully they'll send me a set of the sharp spikes. heck, i didn't even think that the dull spikes they included could have been for the top.
