Using the Santa Cruz's digital out with a mono 1/8 to RCA plug to a h/k avr-520 coax. If I use WinDvd with settings to use SPDIF, I get no sound, or at best if I change the settings(I forget which ones, I'm at work)I get 2.0 only from DD/DTS sources. If I use PowerDVD I only get white noise.


Any clues why the signal isn't being passed correctly? I've read of similar scenarios's in other threads but the solution usually has to do with changing the settings in Audio HQ which applies to SB cards.


Anyone with a Santa Cruz that can lend a hand?

I use a Santa Cruz with a 'stereo' 1/8" mini (versa jack) to dual RCA, plugging in the right channel (red) to coax on receiver. TB control panel set to digital out and WinDVD set to S/PDIF out. Receiver will detect automatically DD/DTS and decode accordingly. Hope this helps. =)

I have personally never had success using a mono jack with the digital out on the TB Santa Cruz. I have always had to use a stereo jack.

As mentioned, you need a stereo, not mono, 1/8" to RCA connector. Also, my experience was that it actually worked only with the white (not red) output, so if one doesn't work try the other.
