Does anybody here know if we can upgrade a Toshiba TDP-MT8 to the latest Infocus 7200 FW?


If not, where can we get the Toshiba FW upgrades?

Contact Toshiba support in your area and they are happy to send out the latest firmware.


I have also seen reports of people using the Infocus firmware without problems too.

I have the Toshiba MT8, and updated it to the latest InFocus 3.2 firmware, that I got from the InFocus web site. When the projector starts up, it now shows an InFocus splash screen, instead of the Toshiba.

I checked my firmware and it is at 2.5...So I call Toshiba and they want me to take it to my local repair shop for a Hardware and software upgrade ????


What are they doing to the hardware ????


I find that the Component input is a little soft RGB is better Blacks are OK and I'm waiting for a DVI cable. What do you guys think of your picture before the upgrade and then after the upgrade.

If all you want to do is a firmware upgrade, then there is no need to change any hardware. It sounds like the person who answered your questions doesn't know what they are talking about. If you want to do the upgrade yourself, then you will need the InFocus cable.


I upgraded my firmware almost immediately after I got the projector, so my recollection is a little vague about the improvements. From what I remember, the video noise was reduced and black level improved. There seems to be almost universal agreement on these forums that the upgrade to 3.2 is a big improvement.
