I have an older TEAC AG-D9100 and the Panny D60. Reciever is not HDMI and I'm using the optical out from the Blu-Ray into the reciever. Some (not all) Blu-Ray disks will not play the movie soundtrack at all. I'm guessing it's the way the audio is encoded. For instance, Taken worked for all the menus and alternate languages but not for english. I have since returned the disk so I don't recall what encoding the audio was. The Fifth Element works fine.

So is there any way to get them to work together or do I have to buy a new reciever?

ETA: Taken is DTS HD Master Audio.
