Hi,

I need a DAC box that accepts the Terranex SDI-HD output

at 1080p24 and 720p60 and outputs analogue 1080p48 (if not

60 or 72) and 720p60. If it can do PAL as well all the

better. Could not find one so far. Anybody know if this

exists? Preferably high end quality.

it seems to me that you are looking at both a DAC and a scaler there. Most DAC boxes just do the conversion to analog. FOr the conversion to a different rate, you may be in trouble.

Though true 1080/24p is a standard all current 24p inplementations use 24fS which is a segmented frame format. It will work as 1080/48i as every other line is on alternating fields. This is not interlace however as the image was captured progressivily. 24sF or 48i will flicker on CRT and some LCD displays.


The Teranex Xantus is able to output 1080/50i which is the European 1080i standard. Which model do you have?
