Testing Server Hardware before Software Install?

477 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Mfusick
I have the hardware and assembly done on my new server and I want to test it's stability with prime95 and monitor it's temperature and power consumption while doing it like I do with all my PC builds.

Since I have never done a server build I'm not sure if all these programs will run properly on the WHS2011 OS.

Do you install Windows 7 temporarily and run these tests then when everything looks good install the server software? Or do you just install WHS2011 and run these programs on that OS?

Yes. W7 is very much like WSH2011. You don't need to test anything. I would just proceed unless you hit an issue. I doubt there is any problems.
