TH-42PWD7UY and HDMI...

I am looking at getting a new plasma display for our family room. My wife said it had to be wall mountable. Gotta do what she says! Hehe. I am looking at the Panasonic TH-42PWD7UY based on our viewing distance (family room is 22x21) I would love to go HD but I stared at the ED and HD and couldn't see enough of a difference to warrant the $ difference. I will setup a home theater in the basement so a super high end set in the family room isn't necessary. I am looking at ordering from VA based on the reviews from members here but I have some questions...

I am looking at buying the HD DVR/DirecTV box which has and HDMI interface. I see that the Panny doesn't have a blade for that input on the VA website. Does it exist? Also...if I purchase the DVI blade (if HDMI isn't available)is it easy to install? I am completely new to Plasma so go easy on me if this is a stupid question.

Any good reasons to go with the consumer version instead? I don't need speakers and like the clean look of the monitor version.

Thanks in advance for your help. The members on this forum helped me pick my Hitachi 65SWX RPT and it was the best purchase I could have made. It was so good that my dad bought it from me! Now I defer to the experts for more advice.

Recommendation: If your output device uses HDMI, do not buy a DVI blade. Find another e-tailer that carries the HDMI and use your component connections until such time an HDMI blade is available. Here is one thread that comments on black levels possibly being clipped due to HDMI / DVI issues:
