I'm in the process of choosing plasma. Surely want a bigger one (panny 42), but my usual watching distance is 9-10 feet. I'm watching digital cable 50% and DVD DVI 50% and concerning about PQ from my digital cable box. Will it be too grained on 42 screen that I will have constant unpleasant feelings about it while watching?

Go to the store and stand back 10' .... if you can. I usually have to go to the next aisle over and then look over the top.


Most people cannot see any screen door effect at that distance on any model.


Now as to quality of SD on dig cable ... no, it is not great. But it is still fun and 37 vs 42 will not make much difference. Watching DVDs on some of the new players will be awesome.
