The almost official Onix Reference speaker thread

Well since the Rocket thread is going to get way off track if we don't pull out the new Onix Reference chatter I thought I'd be the first to do it.

Here are a few pictures:

Both are also available in Piano Black.

Here's what Mark had to say about them:
Quote:
From the new ONIX Refernce Line ... the ONIX Reference Sub... this is NOT a Rocket labeled product... and I'm about to get myself in BIG TROUBLE again here...

We have already received in the USA our first 12 pairs of these incredible speakers (ONIX Reference... not the subs)... There are two designs we are shipping already... 6.0" 2 way with VIFA Ring Radiator tweeter... Woofer and XO designed by Thierry Comte of Triangle fame... (Triangle makes some of THE BEST 2-Chan. speakers in the world... Stereophile Class A rated)... and a twin 6.0" two way floor stander with the same wonderful VIFA Ring Radiator tweeter... The woofer is our custom design...

The finishes are STUNNING... Piano Black Lacquer and Piano Birds Eye Maple... These are very serious products... Again designed by Thierry Comte (hope my spelling was right here)... these are just very very special products... Plans for a Center and a larger floorstander... VERY different from Rocket in that these are not specifically designed for HT playback as the first listening choice... they can do HT very well... but these are really a "Reference Playback Monitor" for all moods and music.

The bookshelf ONIX Reference ONE is $1500 per pair... and the Floor Stander (ONIX Reference Two) is $2500 per pair... We have several pairs of each in stock now... and the guys will surely kill me for breaking this bit of product news now... As I'm so tired and cranky from the double shifts on the production line... let them try... :)

I think I need to start a 2nd career as a bank robber so I can afford all these goodies that Mark is cooking up. Either that or I need a job with AV123 so I can listen to them all for free. Hmm... I wonder if Mark needs any EE's with programing skills. :D

I actually wasn't joking about the job thing, but obviously you don't need my meager skills.

You didn't hurt my feelings. I was merely pointing out that I wasn't really joking. I'm not real keen on my current job and would love to move on.

man - o - man................... is this going to be another grossly over-done love-thread that boils down to people patting each other on the head?? .....whew..............

excellent speakers by the way! just beautifull!!! good job onix!!!!

reminds me of my favorite "looking" speaker by 'taylor acoustics".

i could see a pair of these in my future. -- and if i had a nickel every time fantasized about that one.. haha... very nice product though, can't wait to hear about it. --- but i'm almost scared to see what this *thread* turns into.
