Hey everyone, I have the opportunity to buy a refurbished Samsung LN32A450 32" for $608.99. Is this pretty much the best 32" LCD? Also, are refurbished Samsung units okay? Thanks!

EDIT: Oh yeah, I think I should mention, 1080p is NOT important to me. I do not believe you'll see a difference at this size. Esspecially at longer viewing ranges.

One of the highest rated LCD in the 32in market. I say give it a shot, as long you get a good warranty on the deal.

Think about it we have no problems buying used cars, used houses, used movies, etc. but we always hesitate on TV's, I say give it a shot.

Well, I have a good experience with refurbished units. My Harmon Kardon AVR247 was refurbished and looks/functions like brand new! Plus for only 600 bucks, can any TV even begin to match the Samsung?

Used and refurbished are a little different though, but a lot of times refurbished items can be better then new ones are they are searched for problems it's the cheap brand refurbished ones I am weary of.

Nope, nothing will beat it for that price, go ahead and buy it. You'll love it.

Why would the a450 be one of the best 32" TVs around when in fact it's Samsung's lower end model?

I don't understand your logic.

(there's the 3 series, but still..)

Like I said, 1080p is practically useless at these sizes. Also, i've seen the 32XBR6 next to the 32A450. Is it worth the extra money? Not at all. Than again, I am comparing Best Buy display sets.

What the hell are you talking about?

To others: I take it from his original post he meant best 32" 720p TV. The 32A650, KDL-32XBR6, and 32A550 are all 1080p. And I would say yes the 32A450 is the best (based on reviews and Best Buy display comparison), especially at that refurb price point.

Looking to get one myself very soon.
