THE CLUB demo is up on LIVE. For those who've played it-What do you think?

It's basically an Arcade style shooter , run-n-gun , which is pretty fun in and of itself but the demo is just so-so in the end IMO . I'm sure the full game will be much deeper (at least I would hope so) but the demo did not sell me on the game .

I enjoyed it. If you play it like they want you to it's fun. You cannot play this game like a standard shooter. Just keep going for that high score. Here is my highest so far. Still haven't found all the skulls.

Does the demo have multiplayer?

Tycho from Penny Arcade seems to REALLY like it ( http://www.penny-arcade.com/2008/01/18 ):

When Bizarre Creations dropped a demo for The Club in the mysterious east (by which I mean Europe and Australia), I felt confident that it would arrive here shortly. I picked up a magazine and began to leaf through it, certain that any moment a demo for The Club would emerge. It didn't, and still hasn't, on the PS3 or Xbox Live. Those regions get screwed over with some frequency, so I took this as a kind of karmic reversal. I quickly set about creating "Yuropn" on PSN, a version of myself who lives in a manor house in Congleton, Cheshire, a man whose noble blood would grant him rights to the demo. After playing it for several days, in every mode, multiple times, I think it makes up for the slights they must endure the rest of the year.

The subset of the game they have exposed is flawless. Imagine an incredible, high-fidelity shooter level, cut into distinct routes the way cities are in PGR or Ridge Racer. Add to this the classic play of a "shmup," where enemy patterns, precise control, and iterative strategy maintain full engagement throughout each level. Affix to this pristine Goddamn marvel an almost rhythmic combo structure that ties deeply into these other systems - one where killing at a certain rate is key. Art and technical execution are... perfect. That is the word. If I'd seen this thing months ago, I would have bought these ****ers, too.

Holy crap this game is retarded.

I hate the POV.

The idea is ridiculous.

I could see how it could be fun multiplayer, but if you've been playing CoD4, I dont see how this game could be appealing.

It reminds me of a nextgen arcade game.

You're doing it wrong.
This game seems to me to be like the PGR formula (with kudos and all) plopped into a shooter. Bizarre are really, really good at this sort of thing but I do not know if I would pay $60 for a good but lightweight arcade game, I made this mistake recently with Sega Rally.
I'm definitely buying this game. The fact that it's so arcade and ridiculous is what I LIKE about it. Reminds me of the Dreamcast days.

The graphics are phenomenal too. The framerate doesnt stutter, which I appreciate after playing 32 hours of the jerky mess that is Mass Effect. The textures are nice and sharp. Even has HDR thrown in for good measure...

That is exactly why it's cool!
i stopped playing the demo after 2 minutes. i didnt really like it at all.
Played the PS3 version and DL'd but havent played the 360 version.

Reminds me of old Sega shooters like Virtua Cop in third person.

Graphics are average. Storyline is virtually non-existent (yes, I know its a demo). Hated the first playthru but then kind of grew on me on the second. I feel this would have been better off being released as a $30-40 XBLA game, though.

I agree with those that feel few will purchase this at full price. Maybe MP will be incredible or something.

What is average about the graphics? Textures and framerate and lighting effects seem spot on technically. Is it the art style you don't like?

Can you throw out some suggestions? I don't know if I am suppose to run-and-gun or try and get only headshots. I have tried both and end up with the same score.

Yes, it is the art style. It seems like next-gen Virtua Cop for me. The enemies seem fairly identical. I guess graphics have a tough time after games like Bioshock and COD4. I understand that the enjoyment of this game is not necessarily in the graphic detail. I could also see how the game itself can get fun after understanding its true purpose and seeing the many different ways to rack up extravagant kills.

In all fairness, to my eyes, the 360 version looked better than the same PS3 demo I had downloaded from the UK PSN a few weeks earlier. Not sure what it is, but it seemed smoother frame rate and graphic quality overall.
I played it and was quite surprised at how fun it was, it was a very welcome change of pace from the other shooters I've been playing recently. I wouldn't pay $60 for it, but $40 used and its on!!
I haven't been able to play the demo yet (waiting on my new tv, but picking up a used VGA cable later). But, from what i've seen, it looks like it takes a long time for a enemy to drop. Is that true? The shooting actually looks a bit difficult like Kane & Lynch.

Enemies drop pretty quick, especially if you shoot them in the head. This game also has an auto-lock on similar to Halo where it will lock on to a target you pass over or get close to with the reticle, so aiming is fairly easy.
I enjoyed the demo but the only complaint I have is that the weapons sound like toy guns.

I played with auto-aim off and the control wasn't as fluid as I would like. To be fair I only played like 5-10 minutes at most, so it isn't the greatest assessment. I had an issue with them telling you to try action moves of rolling and jumping over things. Everything I tried to jump over wouldn't let me, even walls that were at waist level.

Overall it did seem like some arcade fun, maybe not worth $60, but after the demo I'll keep my eyes on it to see how the final product turns out.

Exactly. That's what it sounds like to me, too.
