For what it's worth, I cannot imagine a forum host being more open-minded and more dedicated to the happiness of his members than Alan Gouger. (There are other popular AV forums, which shall go nameless, whose imperious moderators would have zapped any post which drew the attention of members to deals not offered by forum advertisers.)

Alan has been so temperate, patient, and gracious through all of this delirium over Dell's money-losing LT 150's that he deserves a toast! Here's to Alan, a class act.

A class "A" act all the way!

This forum provides the best information, entertainment and good humour about HT that's currently available on planet earth!

I'll also toast forum members who have helped me so much!

Cheers,

I agree, good for Alan. He even graciously took the hard ribbing I gave him when I asked if there'd be a B-stock sell on LT150's due to high returns. ;-)

We're going to be a bunch of disappointed puppies if we don't get our $1,700 LT150's. (I have 2 on order. One for me, one for someone else.)

Sam

PS Look at it this way Alan. I was never in the market for an LT150 at $2,700 so you didn't lose a sell there. However, you will be getting about 2 grand from me earlier than expected for a Stewart screen. Cheers.

Just to jump on the bandwagon about how great Alan, David and AVS are...

I know admins who will pull any thread that contains positive information about the competition. The position being 'why waste my bandwidth to provide information that can cost me a sale'.

Frankly, I would not have known at all about the deal if it wasn't for a posting on AVS with the link.

Of course, whether it will really pan out or not is another story. But AVS=great site and great hosts.

Couldn't pass up a chance to voice my greatest appreciation for this site, its congenial members and the folks who started the whole sha-bang! Without the great info here, I'd still be waiting to jump in, counting on my fingers and toes all the possible combinations and scratching my head in bewilderment. Thanks Alan and David.

Tim Francis.

I would have bought from Alan had I not panicked on "price rise for LT-150" and jumped in. NO regrets on the projector, just feel a bit stunned by the huge price drop over the past two weeks.

A bump yes, however,

All you guys that will be getting new screens, additional bulbs, and any other odds and ends for your LT-150's should really give Alan and the crew first shot at your business!

He's really been great about the whole thing!

When another forum recently had criticism of their product they simply made it a closed forum so they are only ones that could profit from the bandwidth.

While Alan I'm sure will be screaming at the NEC rep the fact remains that he handles the product and undoubtedly was invoiced at a higher price than Dell has been offering them.

If it wasn't for the ability to post great deals many of us wouldn't have the projectors we have...or have coming to us.

I made mention of this deal on a thread in another forum, and got my account deactivated 5 minutes later. I guess that what makes this forum the most active home theater forum on the web. I may not buy everything through AVSforum, but I have given them some business, and will give them more.

Ditto to the above post.

If and when I get my LT150 and when I will be in the market for supplies, my business goes to Alan.

I am member of few other HT forums but I almost stopped visiting them.

I just hang out here for all the great info.

I found the Skyworth here, and now the LT150.

Damn, looks like I owe Alan money...:)

whats the best way to contact AVS for supplies?

I live in Buffalo and would drive over to Rochester in a heartbeat to actually speak face to face with someone who can guide me thru the best accessories for my situation.

if not in person, over the phone?

i'll need a screen pretty soon and will start looking into a HTPC or scaler.

and yes, another round of thanks for making it all possible.

Alan, Jason and all,

I heartily applaud you all and the forum as well. I have been sitting on the fence(s) for months lurking and learning. I call Jason at about 8 week intervals to make sure he does not forget to let me know when the "showroom" is ready so that I may come and really learn.

I'm a newbie so I need the "whole enchilada".

From rainbows to resolution, Foot Lamberts to greyhawk,

scalers to aspect ratios and dillards to panamorphs ---

I owe it all to AVSforum.

Now I need to see it so I can buy it -- AVscience

Showroom -- just make it so!

I fly, I buy.

You are all 1st Class.

ckolchak,

I'm in california, and purchased my greyhawk ultimate 4-way from Jason at AVS. I even made a last minute change he helped me with. So I can vouch for doing business with AVS over the phone.

Of course it would have been great meeting Jason and the gang in person too.
