Had it for a week. Set it up for a friend and wow.

Warning! for CRTites

He had a Runco 940 (which is for sale 1342 hrs btw) and he can't believe the brightness and overall stunning picture.

Anyway the reds are much better than I am used to and DVI DVD is simply stunning. Rainbows are still there but VERY slight IMO. I have the DWIN TV1 so I know my rainbows ;)

Pixels are nonexistant at 8-10 ft.

Anyway thought I would open the field for questions as I continue to set it up.

I'm glad to hear of your happiness with the TV3e as I am just about to send mine in for upgrade. I'll be looking forward to comparing notes with you in the not so distant future.

What is the difference between the TV3e and the TV4 that was at CES??

The TV4 is a scaled down PJ from the TV3E and does not use the darkchip.

I did notice some pixelation issues on the HD cable box HDMI to DVI. I wish this PJ had a HDMI input. I think it is the SA8300 though and not the PJ.

Randy,

Have you seen the E version? I know you've quoted Dwin as saying it 20% better but as a current TV3 owner I'm curious how much improvement would be noticed?

If there is anyone that has seen and both please let us know what differences you've seen.

Aggie.........

You say the TV4 is "scaled down" from the TV3.... did they scale down from the TV3, the TV3+, or ... may I assume that the TV3e is a TV3+ with the Dark Chip 3?

I haven't seen the TV3e yet, but I'll let you know when I do. I remember the TV4 had no vertical lens shift and there is another thread that describes what is different from a couple of weeks ago.

FishLady, If you mean can you upgrade from a TV3 vs the TV3plus then the answer is yes. Either is upgradeable to the DC3.

I guest you meant either is upgradable to the TV3E? Is it also $1500 to upgrade from the TV3-->TV3E? What does the upgrade include? Thanks.

The best way to find out for sure is to call Dwin. This has been discussed on another thread. My understanding is $1500 for the upgrade for either version. Also It is supposed to include the chip, a new color wheel and at least a firmware upgrade of some sort(maybe a new circuit board, I don't know). The grayscale is supposed to be adjustable without going into the service menu.
