No trailer or anything yet, but I feel compelled to post what might be the only reason to see this film (which starts shooting in October). Donnie Yen has been offered a lead role:

Hmm... could be good. Something was just 'missing' from the first but overall, I enjoyed it.

Lot's of splosions and fighting but, yeah, something was off. The dialogue and heroic tone was like something a couple of eight year olds might cook up. I enjoyed it but liked the A-team better.

It was fun, but it lacked a certain spark. RAMBO IV had it. That film was the bomb and that finale was stupendous. Then again, it wasn't edited with a hacksaw. The action was very clear.

Expendables was cut cut cut cut cut, rinse, cut cut cut cut cut some more. Way too frantic with the editing.

Well said, guys. Rambo definitely had the right feel and so did the A-Team. I agree on that. It's almost like Expendables was trying to be serious but not take itself too serious to make it feel like a ridiculous action movie that it was hyped to be. I'm not sure you know what I mean but something was just... off. Hard to articulate. I dunno but it sounds like you guys fell the same way. I'll give this one a chance, for sure. Let's just hope the "OMGTHISISGOINGTOBEAWESOME!!!1!" hype train doesn't derail ... again.

I forgot about that ending. Holy crap, no watered down bit there.

Rambo IV seemed kind of similar in personality to Stallone in Expendables but it made more sense in Rambo. Somewhere between this, Mickey Rourke and Arnold the movie went sideways. But I'll give the 2nd a chance.

I loved The Expendables. It was a must see day one. 2nd one will be no different. If we dont support real action stars we will be stuck with romantic comedies for life. Im sick and tired of wussyfied movies "twilight" taking over the box office. What is up with that??
Arnold and Bruce Willis both confirmed for this, as well as Chuck Norris and JCVD.

Yes all though it was a good action movie but something was missing I expect Expendables 2 will be more fun
G-sus I hope this one is better than the 1st one. This maybe a rare case where the sequel will be better, CAN'T go much further from bottom.

Loved the first one. I can't wait to see this!

Is there an action star, past or present, that ISN'T in the cast?

Must be fishing.

I disagree. Age is only limiting if you have a preconcieved bias. Don't cast older actors as Spiderman, Thor or (insert the superhero or your choice), but as aging mercenaries it works.

If the script supports older actors, why not? Which young action stars would you put into a room with Couture or Seagal? I personnally don't care for Seagal or his movies at all, but I do believe he can hold his own is real life. You know Couture could, even though he's old for a fighter, he's still a tough dude. Stratham is past your 42 cutoff, yet his bio makes me believe he wouldn't be a pushover. I doubt Christian Bale would stand toe to toe with most of those in this series. I agree that older action stars shouldn't be jumping from high rises, but if older guys can kick a younger guy's a$$ in real life, why limit movies to only young heroes? It all depends on the part and the story and I believe the plot line in this series supports older actors. The "old guys" in this series bring some entertaining personalities that I enjoyed in the first movie. It was only a marginally decent movie, but it was fun.
