Kaley Cuoco To Star In ‘The Flight Attendant’ Drama Series Picked Up By WarnerMedia Streamer, Inks New Deal With Warner Bros. TV

The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco is staying at the studio behind the blockbuster comedy series with an expansive new agreement at Warner Bros. TV Group that includes a series pickup by WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming platform of thriller drama The Flight Attendant, with Cuoco starring and executive producing and Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Prods. coming on board to produce alongside Warner Bros.

The multi-faceted pact includes a new two-year pod deal for Cuoco’s production company, Yes, Norman Productions, and a talent holding provision for Cuoco’s acting services beyond The Flight Attendant, with Warner Bros. TV committed to developing new series projects, including multi-camera and single-camera half-hour comedies and hourlong dramedies, with an eye toward her starring.

Cuoco has been in high demand coming off the hugely successful sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which just ended its 12-season run on CBS. With two greenlighted series through her previous WBTV pact, the newly picked up The Flight Attendant and the animated Harley Quinn on DC Universe, and several projects in development, Cuoco opted to stay at her long-time home where she has a longstanding close relationship with the top executives, Peter Roth, Susan Rovner and Brett Paul.

“I love that Warner Bros. is my home away from home, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue this incredibly collaborative and gratifying relationship,” Cuoco said. “They’re stuck with me now!”
Cuoco and her Yes, Norman Productions team led by SVP Suzanne McCormack, who joined the company last year, will continue to develop projects for broadcast, cable, on-demand/streaming and digital platforms via WBTVG divisions, including Warner Bros. Television, Warner Horizon Scripted Television, Warner Bros. Animation and digital venture Blue Ribbon Content.

Cuoco launched Yes, Norman, which she named after her dog, in 2017 with a pod deal at WBTV. The first project under that deal was The Flight Attendant, with Cuoco optioning the rights to the book by Chris Bohjalian before it had been published by Doubleday.

Steve Yockey (Supernatural) adapted the novel, which became a bestseller. Cuoco is executive producing alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Production; Suzanne McCormack co-executive produces. Filming is expected to begin this fall.

Additionally, Yes, Norman produces (alongside Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker’s Ehsugadee Productions) the upcoming Warner Bros. Animation series Harley Quinn, for the DC Universe digital subscription service, with Cuoco voicing the title character and serving as an executive producer (with Halpern, Schumacker, Dean Lorey and Sam Register) on the half-hour adult animated action-comedy.

On the development front, Yes, Norman has Sick Girl, a psychological thriller based on the novel from debut author Rachel Hargrove, among a number of projects in the works with Warner Bros.
Cuoco has drama series experience. Between her starring roles on two hit comedy series, ABC’s 8 Simple Rules and CBS’ Big Bang, she did a stint on the WB’s Charmed. Reworking the female lead in the original pilot for Big Bang and casting Cuoco in the role was one of the key changes credited with helping make the comedy a runaway success.

Cuoco is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, SDB Partners and Hansen Jacobson Teller.

Sounds interesting and I'll watch especially because I'm very curious to see if KC can pull of a serious role (and she's still very nice to look at :D).

As always... thanks for the heads-up William!

‘The Flight Attendant’: Michelle Gomez Joins Kaley Cuoco’s HBO Max Series In Recasting
By Denise Petski

EXCLUSIVE: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s Michelle Gomez has been cast as a series regular in a recasting in HBO Max’s thriller series The Flight Attendant, starring and executive produced by Kaley Cuoco.

The Flight Attendant
is a story of how an entire life can change in one night. Cassie (Cuoco) is a flight attendant who wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man – and no idea what happened. Michiel Huisman, Colin Woodell, Zosia Mamet, Merle Dandridge and Griffin Matthews also star.

Gomez plays Miranda, a hardened, savvy businesswoman with anger-management issues who Cassie meets in Bangkok. She replaces Sonoya Mizuno who was initially cast in the role. The storyline was reworked and the character took on a different creative direction, leading to the recasting.

Production was underway on The Flight Attendant when the coronavirus pandemic shut down virtually all TV and film production in mid-March. Gomez was shooting prior to the shutdown, but the casting never was announced. The series is eyeing a return to production in late August.

The dark comedic thriller is based on the novel by New York Times best-selling author Chris Bohjalian. Greg Berlanti, Cuoco, Sarah Schechter, Steve Yockey, Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin are executive producers. Yes, Norman’s Suzanne McCormack is co-executive producer. Susanna Fogel directs and executive produces the first two episodes.

Gomez currently can be seen as Mary Wardwell/Madam Satan on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is heading into its fourth and final season on Netflix. She’s also known for her role as Missy (aka The Master), the longtime nemesis of the Time Lord on the BBC America series Doctor Who. ABC’s ‘For Life’ & HBO Max’s ‘The Flight Attendant’ Start Production In New York

By Nellie Andreeva

New York is officially back in the TV production business. Cameras have started rolling ABC’s drama series For Life, starring Nicholas Pinnock, and HBO Max’s limited series The Flight Attendant, headlined and exec produced by Kaley Cuoco.

For Life, from Sony Pictures Television, is believed to be the first series to return to production in New York; it started shooting its second season August 26. Executive producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson posted an image of Pinnock wearing a mask on the set Saturday. (You can see it below.)

The Flight Attendant, from Warner Bros TV, resumed filming today. Star/executive producer Cuoco shared the news on Instagram next to images of her and her co-star Michiel Huisman, both wearing masks. (You can check them out below the post.)

New York allowed for film and TV production op get going again last month when the city entered Phase 4 of its reopening. At the time, Anne del Castillo, commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, called August production restarts in the city “a safe bet.”

For Life is ahead of the game with its August Season 2 start of production, becoming one of the first ABC scripted series to begin filming its new season. The drama, from creator/exec producer Hank Steinberg and exec producer Jackson, spent the spring on the bubble before earning a Season 2 renewal in June for a midseason 2021 debut. With its timeliness in the era of Black Lives Matter and a growing social justice movement, the series could potentially be considered for fall, especially with the majority of ABC’s fall scripted shows yet to start production.

Sony TV has been at the forefront of the production restart, with a number of its broadcast series already filming including S.W.A.T. for CBS, which started shooting in Los Angeles on August 4; ABC’s The Goldbergs, which began filming August 24, also in Los Angeles; and For Life, which followed on August 26. Sony TV’s dramas The Good Doctor and The Blacklist also are close to starting production. (The studio’s Apple series For All Mankind has been shooting too.)

Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., who was wrongfully convicted but got his conviction overturned while in prison and became a licensed attorney, For Life follows Aaron Wallace (Pinnock) as he represents himself and his fellow inmates in court, while also exposing injustices and racial profiling in the American legal system as well as the flaws in the prison system. As Steinberg revealed in a Q&A with Deadline last month, Season 2 will reflect BLM and the protests following the death of George Floyd. It also will see Wallace leaving prison and trying to re-assimilate into his old life.

Pinnock, Indira Varma, Joy Bryant, Dorian Missick and Tyla Harris star along with Mary Stuart Masterson, Boris McGiver and Timothy Busfield. Steinberg, Tillman, Jackson and his G-Unit Film & Television production company and Wright Jr. executive produce alongside Robinson and Greenspan via Doug Robinson Productions and Russell Fine.

The Flight Attendant HBO Max limited series, starring and executive produced by Cuoco, was just a couple of days into shooting Episode 6 of its eight-episode order when in early March it shut down production due to the fast-spreading coronavirus.

“We are looking to get back up and running at the end of August,” The Flight Attendant executive producer/co-showrunner Steve Yockey said in early August during the show’s panel at CTAM’s virtual press tour. “We are all feeling very positive about it but of course the health and safety of our cast and crew are the top priority. But assuming everything goes to plan, you will be seeing The Flight Attendant on HBO Max this fall.”

The series had wrapped all planned international filming before the March shutdown so the remaining production is all New York-based.

The Flight Attendant is a story of how an entire life can change in one night. Cassie (Cuoco) is a flight attendant who wakes up in the wrong hotel, in the wrong bed, with a dead man – and no idea what happened. Rosie Perez, Huisman, Zosia Mamet, Colin Woodell, Merle Dandridge and Griffin Matthews also star.

The dark comedic thriller, exec produced by Cuoco, Yockey, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin, is based on the novel by Chris Bohjalian.

Warner Bros TV’s Supernatural is filming its final two episodes in Vancouver, with several other studio series zeroing in on a production restart.

Weird poster in that article.
They hinted at it being a bit 'different'. Guess we will find out next month. Wonder if this will be a quick burn series with a 3-episode drop on premiere day of an 8-episode season? Or, maybe it will be a one-episode release after that.

Really don't like that poster for some reason. I am looking forward to this. Hope it turns out to be good.
