Hmmm, still using my Sharp Aquas 37" (1366x768 panel), pixel-to-pixel from pc with DVI-D!! Would like to know if the AVR with HDMI nowadays will accept non hdmi standards resolutions (ie. 1366x768, 1440x900, 1920x1020) and pass-through? The problem for the old Sharp is the engineer screwed up on the EDID, which means no 1366x768 is specified!


I've been reading manuals of Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K, Yamaha RXV765, but there's no definite answer. For the Yamaha RXV765, I'm wondering if the combination of MON.CHK set to "skip" and HDMI resolution set to "through" will do the trick!?

No need to worry - my 32" Aquos displays 1366x768 just fine through a DVI-D to HDMI cable and my Denon AVR-790. The info panel on the display shows the actual resolution (1366x768) instead of "720p".

What 32" model is yours? I think Sharp fixed the EDID for the later models...


Simply, if u use htpc/pc, do u need to set "customized resolution" for your Sharp 32" to output 1366x768? Cause I have to!
