I finally got around to seeing it in the theater today by coincidence. Definitely one of the better comedies of the year.

The way the movie plays out with a lot of the incidents only hinted at during the end credits montage, I can see there's a lot room left for a lot of additional scenes filling out some of the holes in what happened over the night without wrecking the spirit of the final scene via some sort of extended, unrated (of course) version for home video.

Look forward to this one.

T.B.
Sure love this film, just watched in theater and it was very funny. Can't wait.

Excellent! I'm looking forward to this. On a tangent, am I the only one on the planet who doesn't care much about special features? Give me the movie with the best possible audio and video transfer, and I'll be happy.

First movie I went to see at the theater twice in a couple of a years. Fantastic movie, and saw the news the other day from Warner on Twitter that it is now the #1 all time grossing R-rated comedy. Absolutely hilarious stuff that deserves the accolades.

While it is true it brought in over $235 million, once you account for inflation there are a couple rated R comedies that have earned more. Animal house has earned $430,012,100 when put in today's dollars and Beverly Hills Cop pulled in $482,137,100.

I thought it was a so-so comedy completely targeted at the main stream to make as much money as possible. Seems like they never quite used the full potential and took it way too over the top at times (Mike Tyson and Mr. Chow both could have been left out).

Might rent the BR to watch it again and see if my mind has changed.
release day buy for me

.

Oh absolutely. Add in home video and those numbers go even higher, especially with all of the Animal House releases (except for Blu-ray, go figure). It's all PR spin, but still a nice stat.

Mike Tyson was barely in it, and Mr. Chow was one of my favorite characters. "Tootalu, motha ****uhs!" lol

Completely agree. This is one of the funniest movies from start to finish that I have ever seen - wouldn't change a thing. It will be a day 1 purchase for me.

"Why don't you suck on these Chinese nuuuuutz!"
"Not at the table Carlos"

This will be mine.

Tyson was so and so at the hotel but he was funny while watching the surveillance tapes.
That's a big fat negative. I was looking forward to picking this up next week, but it doesn't look like it's coming out until December 15th (not confirmed either).

Not sure where October 6th came from. Can thank the OP though.

Blu-ray.com is also saying December 15th:

Any word on the BD extras vs SD?

+1

Mr. Chow's introduction in his first scene was also something that you rarely see in movies.

Man, this sucker is razor sharp. The picture has a natural film look as well, not too slick and polished.
