Oink, I just heard from a critic friend that Brad Bird is writing the script. This has not been confirmed by Disney, but man is it juicy!

wow that's great news! The Incredibles stands up there as one of Pixar's finest. My favorite is still Monsters Inc but The Incredibles is very close.

Awesome and about freaking time!

I may be alone on this but all I can hear right now is Kari yelling, in her beautiful Kari voice, "Mishes Parr! MISHES PARR!"

Coincidentally(probably not!), the original Incredibles will be re-released in 3D. Ditto Ratatouille.

Speaking at the 3D Creative Summit in London, Pixar’s director of 3D production Josh Hollander said: “Right now we’re working on The Incredibles, which is a lot of fun in 3D. I’m not sure what the release strategy for it will be.

Why do you think that Oink out of curiosity?

I can guess why you feel that way, but FWIW, Ratatouille is my all time favorite animated film, and one other film that I really enjoyed was "Flushed Away"..
(another mouse/rat movie).

The OAR aside for a moment....much of the "shots" are "long-shots," with lots of fast movement and "flying thru the air" sequences.

I was more curious why you think Rat won't work in 3d. What do you mean by OAR aside for a moment?

The Incredibles is ripe for a sequel but I remember Cars 2. Having a two year old in the house has led us to re-watch the entire Pixar collection and Monsters Inc is the top followed by Nemo and Up for us. Only recently has the kid sat through The Incredibles and for some reason loves Incrediboy, perhaps a villain in the making. Still, I find no problem with her saying "He's a superdad like you dadda." I just drop the mic, leave the room, and shed a single tear that evaporates on contact with my beard.

I'm anxious for Finding Dory and the dinosaur movie myself.

+1000

Flushed Away gets a bad rap but my family loves it and would look fantastic if it EVER gets released on Blu.

Ratatouille, imo, is also under appreciated. The writing is so solid. It feels more like a regular movie than a kids movie.

Rat already has an amazing sense of 3d - in the 2d version.

Pixar has finally proven to be mortal but The Incredibles is no CARS to begin with. I remember reading Brad Bird constantly getting asked about a sequel for Incredibles, and he would say there had to be a story to warrant it. We'll see, but I have faith in this one.

Indeed. You have to have the bad to get to the good. It is a business and it is Disney and that's why Cars 2 exi$t$. There isn't a lot to whoop about regarding Disney sequels. We recently watched Lilo and Stitch which was surprisingly great followed by the sequel which was not good at all.

I can see Ratatouille working in 3D. Some scenes are tailor made, like the scene in the house with the old woman with the gun and Remy's escape on the book raft down the sewers, Remy running through the kitchen, exteriors of Paris, etc.

It might not be as spectacular as The Incredibles would certainly be, but I think Ratatouille could benefit from the "depth" added.

No doubt. I think another advantage of Rat for 3d is that since there is not a ton of camera pans and fast action type scenes, it will really allow one to appreciate the 3d depth (in theory at least, we will see) since there are a lot more still or slow moving type scenes/shots. Curious to see both in 3d though.

No doubt! This is why I think the 3d version has good potential as well. 3d will take it to the next level for depth I am betting.

OK, my bad.

I forgot Ratatouille, like The Incredibles, is 2.39 OAR....

It's been a long time since I've seen it.
