The Incredibles on Starz 12/23 9pm EST - HD & OAR!

Given Starz! past history, the HD tape they receive (recall Starz! can only show what they're given) will likely be OAR and an upconvert from 480i.


In the past Disney has only provided true HD masters to their owned entities (read: ABC).

This time they claim it to be HD in all places in the schedule. But if it's cropped it's still useless to me.

I wouldn't get too excited about tonight's showing.

According to the "Starz Press Room" THE INCREDIBLES

will not air in HD until January. The "Press Room" does not

have it listed for December but it shows up in HD for January.

It looks HD to me as well. I have not seen the upconvert, though. It looks really, really good.

Doesn't look HD to me...just my opinion...maybe my PQ from COX is bad...

I will do a frame comparison tonight as I already have the upconvert on my hard drive.

It looks better than the DVD upscaled to 1080i to me from my v880n.

If this one is really HD then that might be a good sign for "Dark City". Another one I would probably add Starz for. Just got a Sony Ruby 1080p projector delivered in the last hour, so "The Incredibles" in HD might be a good way to start once I let it adjust to room temperature and fire it up.

The Starz! online HD schedule says HDTV.

The Incredibles on Starz tonight sure looked like HD to me. OAR and a better picture & better color than I recall seeing on the DVD. Starz HD is becoming a worthwhile HD channel to have.

And the last time it was on Starz they didn't list it as HD(and it wasn't)

It looked like HD to me too, but it's been awhile since I've seen the DVD.

It will be run quite a few times this month.


I guess I'll turn on Starz for this month. This and Dark City will be worth the $12.


Nevermind. I called up and the bastards want to charge me $19 to add Starz "a la carte" even though I already have "Digital Classic". Well, they can stuff it!

Definitely HD and gorgeous.

The Starz site also lists Hitch as HD. If this is Hitch in HDTV, I'm cancelling Starz...


Funny enough, that link highdef4ever posted does NOT list Hitch in HDTV this month.


I'm hoping The Incredibles was not in HD tonight just because I'm holding out hope for better PQ for this move in January.
