ESPN2 will offer NHRA Drag Racing beginning in June. Its a done deal, but I'm not sure just when in June HD coverage will commence, and I'm not sure if all scheduled events will be in HD.

Wow...if only TWC would have ESPN2HD by then...Ive never seen drag racing in high def. Somehow I doubt NHRA coverage will be what breaks the camels back though.
Best Buy has a NHRA High Def demo loop. They mainly show the pro stock bikes at Denver.

There are lots of commercials with more bass than NHRA on ESPN2
Better yet a continuous lt-rt no dialog channel. Then we can have blasting loud motor sound with no talking!!

Very good news.Although I'm surprised nothing has been metioned at NHRA.com or in National Dragster about this. One of the problems with the NHRA trying to attract new fans through television is that it just cannot capture the true experience of Nitro burning cars. I have been a fan for over twenty years and it seems sad that many people get their only drag racing experience from T.V. If ESPN2 can find a way to use the Dolby 5.1 to capture some bass from the cars and "shake" the house like they do live, I will be highly impressed. I think the NHRA and ESPN have a great opprotunity here, I hope they get it right.
It was mentioned on the NHRA web site a day or two ago.

Starting next week the HD Drags will begin! They were really advertising ESPN2 HD in today's NHRA showdown.
REALLY SUCKS that almost no providers are carrying this channel. I'm pretty sad that I won't be seeing it... Come on Charlie/DISH give us just one more HD channel!
