The Matrix: complete score in 5.1 on two SACD (Varese Sarabande)

So one of my other niche music collecting hobbies is movie soundtracks. Just saw that Varese Sarabande has released a 2-SACD 5.1 release of Don Davis' Matrix scores. Rare to see an OST in 5.1 (I can only think of one: E.T., but I'm sure there are a few more) so pretty cool. Shipping was under $5 and no sales tax interestingly. Limited run of 1000 copies so get yours now (already ordered mine)!

Matrix: The Complete Score (2-5.1 SA-CD)

Got it last week and haven't listened to it yet but it looks good. Disappointed by the quality of the actual case and inserts (case gets stuck when opening, the tray liner is too short and creased lengthwise on one end tab, and the discs were so tightly inserted onto the tray that I thought the disc might break when I pulled it off) but cool nonetheless.

Listened to it finally and it's fine but like most orchestral scores (although it does have some electronic music as well) it's not particularly impressive. Surrounds are used prominently with general "orchestral" output, mostly strings if I had to say. I would mostly recommend this for collecting and for fans of the movie and score.
