I have been watching the posts on the next UTV and just have to say ''don't count Microsoft out just yet" we may have some life left for what I believe has been a better product the Tivo but not advertised to make it popular. Lets hope this is true.

I do hope I can keep this UTV and having a Xbox might be the only way.

Try not using this direct and just type it in your address bar.

I had trouble getting to this page also, you can also get their by going to www.gamers.com, just type it in your address bar, then go to the features page at the bottom of the page then go to the open X-box on the left side near the bottom.

It's worth reading.

Also information on www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/3063.cfm

and http://www.redherring.com/insider/20...box062402.html also try http://xbox.gamerweb.com/features/newconsole.asp

Summery for those that can't open open this page:

On a scale of 1-10, how do you think the Xbox has fared since it's launch in November? How about the future prospects for the system?

Dean Takahashi: I would say they hit a 7. They did well in the U.S. but bombed in Japan and Europe. They are recovering in Europe thanks to the price cut, but they should have been able to hold out until the fall before they had to cut prices. Now they are going to lose a good deal of money on each box for sure. I have mixed feelings about the idea of combining Ultimate TV and the Xbox in one machine as Microsoft is planning to do. The Ultimate TV service bombed. Plus, it takes resources from the machine, and it makes the machine more expensive because it requires a bigger hard disk, more memory chips and TV tuners, plus some complicated software to manage the machine so that a game can be played at the same time that the machine is recording TV. From a marketing view, this kind of combo box might appeal to parents and maybe to the Japanese, where it saves on having a separate video recording box. But I think the real next Xbox comes in 2006 or so when Sony launches the PlayStation 3.

Is this news to anybody else or has everyone but me known about this?

Is this a rumor or what?
