Guys, will the X3300 be the 2016 equivalent of the Denon 4200w of last year? I know it will contain Audyssey XT32. This is the most important feature for me. If not maybe the Denon 4200w is the better option?

Better question is the Marantz 6010 better overall than the Denon x3300?

By the end of this month I will make a decision and finally buy one after months of research.

Nope. Simply the X3200W with XT32. The SR6010 and X3200W are sister models ... with the SR6010 having XT32 and the X3200W does not.

Thanks jdsmoothie for your reply.

I have four Klipsch XF-48 speakers and a R-115 Klipsch subwoofer. Only my Rp-450C center speaker is not active. Do you think that the X3300 will be the best solution in my case? I feel that higher models are overkill in my configuration. True? Or am I missing something.

For a setup that won't go beyond 7.1, and especially in your case where power is a non-concern (having active speakers), the X3300 makes a LOT of sense. You get XT32 and pre-outs and don't pay for extra features you won't use.

The other option is to go with last year's X4200 (or Marantz SR6010) instead, which you may find at a similar price point on closeout, which gives you the XT32 and pre-outs but also the flexibility to expand to 9ch if you so choose.

Friends, I am playing Tidal HIFI (iphone 6) via S710W to a pair of Klipsch RP150M speakers. While I am happy with the result, just wondering if sound quality will improve if I use other connector.
I tried a lightening to USB cable and found out a huge drop in quality specially in the soundstage. Not sure if it's due to the quality of the cable? Any suggestions?

Simply use AirPlay. That Apple protocol is super high quality, no cabled needed whatsoever and your receiver supports it I think.

X3300 doesn't have Audyssey Platinum, because it doesn't have Audyssey LFC or Audyssey DSX. It is somewhat Silvgold. It is exactly the same as Audyssey XT but with more filters on frequencies higher than 120hz because XT can do same as XT32 with 120hz and less.
Also they charge $50 more on X1300, X2300 and X3300 for having less features than previous models which is dumb.
Denon/Marantz cut features every year and they charge more for that. All models from X1 to X6 got same creaky plasticky volume knobs (my X4100 didn't had an accurate dial, but X3100 had, it's a lottery of knobs because they are all the same on all models.)
I bet they gonna change that input selection knob with a metal button so they can charge $50
They started with X1000 at $499 and now they charge $650 for the same class model. Just insane. Also they weight less year by year, instead of X4 and higher (even if it has more features like dtsx and antennas, X4+ have same weight)

See my picture
X1000 - $499 X2000 - $699
X1100 - $549 X2100 - $699
X1200 - $599 X2200 - $799
X1300 - $649 X2300 - $849

Wow didn't know that the Audyssey version is sort of stripped. Thanks for this info. So far the Marantz 6010 seems a lot more interesting more and more for me.

1. Beginning with the 2016 models, Denon no longer uses the various Audyssey "color" terms (ie. Platinum, Silver, etc.); however, XT32 has 32 times more filter resolution on higher frequencies and 4x more filter resolution on the subwoofer frequencies than XT which is why the X3300W will likely be a top seller for 2016.

2. The 2016 models (X3300W and lower) are priced the same as the 2015 models --> https://usa.denon.com/us/product/hometheater/receivers.
X1000 - 5CH model
X1100 - added 2CH --> 7CH model
X1200 - added Dolby Atmos and new HDCP 2.2/HDMI 2.0a(HDR) and new 2016 Denon Remote app
X1300 - no price change

X2200 - added Dolby Atmos and new HDCP 2.2/HDMI 2.0a(HDR) and new 2016 Denon Remote app
X2300 - no price change

Hardly stripped as it's the same version of XT32 on the SR6010, rather simply the additional Audyssey features (DSX (Front Wide/Front Height) and LFC) are not included on the X3300W.

Another feature added for 2016 is support for the new Audyssey smartphone app. As Audyssey Pro is phased out, this app will provide many of the same features in an easier to use fashion, making it accessible to consumers as well as custom installers. The app will guide the user through the Audyssey calibration, using the included Audyssey microphone for auto-calibration. The app will also allow the user to check correction results, set target sound options, adjust frequency roll-off, set mid-range compensation controls and save/load/view/print results. The new app will be available from app stores in October for a cost of €19.99, which is considerably less than the old Audyssey Pro kit.

Probably. But gotta tell you as I keep reading and reading when prices drop on the 4200, thinking it'll be one big seller too.

I keep saying to myself, "Isn't all that stuff in the X4200 already?"

Because the cost of the X4300H is likely to go up roughly $200, it's unlikely the price on the X4200W will drop as much had the price remained the same as is the case with the X3200W/X3300W.
