The Official Sony XBR2 (60" & 70") Owner's Thread

can you happy new owners spare a minute or two away from your toy to let us know your impressions. inquiring minds want to know!!!!

Umm... 2 posts in an "owner's thread" when none of you own it. I don't know why people start these threads when they don't own the TV. The first owner should get the honor. If I was the first to get my XBR2 (which I won't be b/c I'm getting the 60 and the 70 is coming out first), I'd totally ignore your lame thread. I think the worst part is you, MixDoctor, know better having 900+ posts.

Maybe he's trying to get the owners to post pics so he can decide if he wants one. I didn't even know the sets were available.

I don't mean to perpetuate this non-owner's owner's thread, but one of us has had his XBR2 for a couple of days now and not posted anything. The purpose of this forum is to share information. Why announce you have a set, when you can't take 15 minutes to post a brief impression?


We don't expect a full blown review, just a bone to whet our voracious appetite for information!

This is bad form. Now the whole first page of an owner's thread will be filled with useless posts (like this one--but sigh now I am subscribed). It needs to die.

As a general rule, never create an owners thread unless 1) you have the set, and 2) you are willing to at least occasionally update the first post with a brief summary of news and developments. The most successful owners threads meet this criteria, and those that don't often die a painful death.


(Note I intend to delete this post later.)

I too was excited to see or hear any impressions from an owner when I read "Official Owners Thread," but 15 posts so far and not a single owner, just future owners.

I know it’s hard to wait for a new toy to come out at your local store, but standing on the corner shouting, “I want it nowâ€, will not help get it there. This forum is a valuable resource only if it contains information and opinions that are relevant to the subject of the thread. Sorry to say, you need to be patient and let someone with first hand knowledge (an owner) start an owners thread.


I feel the moderator should remove this thread or any others that are, in fact, imposters.
