The Professional: Deluxe or Superbit?

587 Views 9 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  ChrisWiggles
I've noticed that there are two versions of the uncut international edition. I was wondering if they both use the same transfer or if the superbit is still better...

Also are theFifth Element transfers the same for the SB and the Ultimate Edition?

Thanks.

Flip both these special editions over and look down near the bottom, and you'll notice a Superbit logo... ;)
apparently the Deluxe version fixes issues with the DTS audio track (non-existent surround, wimpy bass) which showed up in the original Superbit.

GB
Both releases have serious problems with compression handling the excessive amount of noise reduction used in the transfer. There are ghosting trails everywhere. :(

Bring on High Def for this one.

Amen brother!
So correct me if Im wrong...

Fifth Ellement Superbit and Deluxe are identical picture and sound wise.

The Proffesional Deluxe has the same transfer as Superbit but fixed DTS sound.

If thats the case, Im rebuying the proffesional since it is one of my favorite movies.

These are not facts. There are people online that have posted screenshots that show the Ultimate Fifth Element has a new transfer. I think it looks better than the first Superbit.

Also, I was under the impression the Leon Deluxe was also a new transfer (even though it's still not that great), but I do not have the original so I can't compare.

And there are people who have analyzed the MPEG streams from each edition and see no difference. There's only one site that I could find when we went through all this way-back-when that had differing screen shots. I had even asked the "author" to reproduce the shots and he refused. The UE was not remastered as far a most people who tried hard to tell the difference could see. Go into the Reference thread and see the BMPs I captured from each Disc. My eyes could never see a difference.
