I liked the first one well enough and a sequel could correct some issues and flesh things out in this alternate America.

I like the angle of the trailer, and maybe will see more of this alternate America then just being holed up in your own house and neighborhood.

It did so well with a $3m budget. It made a ton! Not surprised to see this sequel come out. It's an easy plot and cheap to shoot.


I think this our next horror/thriller franchise. Expect a third, fourth, fifth....

The first movie had a lot of potential, but fell a little flat in some ways.

If this can by corrected in the sequel, I'm all for a watch.

Robocop 3.


Three different franchises with no returning cast to speak of. Three franchises that are pretty good. The setup of The Purge doesn't need anyone to return except the satanic government and that holiday which allows for some thoughtful exploration of the thin veneer we call society. The original set that up nicely but not perfectly.


Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show) From the first one...errrbody dead. Mostly. Who wants to see Lena Headey dealing with ******* neighbors again?

Agreed, no need to recycle any characters in this type of movie. I will add though, that I really hope that they pay more attention to the details in this one. The first one took a cool concept and basically ruined it with poor execution. That being said, I'll still likely be giving this a shot at some point. Probably in Oct.
