the real deal with bulb life

554 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  msieweke
i am a Z1 owner and considering buying the H31 or something similar in this price class. one key criteria is going to be bulb life. Is there any projector brand that meets their life expectency better than others?...and on the flip side is which ones consistantly fall short.

thanks

Yea, get a CRT projector with good tubes, You'll never have to worry about replacing anything for the next 10 years and you'll have a better picture to boot.
Has anyone else noticed "false" bulb timers. It seems like everytime the projector gets turned on, if just for 30 minutes, then the timer adds an hour. Plus it seems to run fast. I'll have to do an actual test experiment on real time hours vs. bulb meter.
Someone mentioned the so-called "fast" lamp timer about a year ago. For a couple of weeks I kept track of the time I turned my projector on and off, and after more than 50 hours there was only about a ten minute difference between my records and the lamp timer. This is on a Panasonic AE300.
