Should I finish them like Taner ridge frameless?

Question 2 if I do frame should it be black to match other trim or pait it red to match my coffers for a contrast since the fabric and wall colors are so close.

I like the look of the trim around the edge (beam and pole). Regardless of frame or trim, I would at least look at a contrasting color. Not sure there is a wrong answer here. Will just depend on which look you think looks best in your room.

I'm planning to trim around the sides of mine with a golden oak stain trim. Will give me the color combo I'm after, and add a nice bit of contrast to the room without being overpowering.

is the chair rail raised off the wall any or have backer board ? the reason i ask is if you did beam post to moldings being close to each other may look a little weird imo.

it maybe harder to do but i would almost think carfully removing the chair rail and base molding the doing like the ohio build that bigmouthindc did and applying the fabric to the fall then reinstalling the trim.. a lot of work but the theater is very nice and red between the columns witht he black trim would make the walls really pop.

I would like to announce a death in the family. My beloved 2002 mustang GT convertible after 100,000 miles needed some major work not to mention new tires. 18 months ago I had to rebuild the breaks at the tune of $3,000. Though I was willing to put the money in her my wife was not and wanted me to trade her in. I had custom paint and every bolt on mod short of a supercharger you can put on her. The suspension was rebuilt in 2009 and a new top in 2010. Wife was just tired of me "pouring money into it"

That looks amazing Bill!

We had Rainbow when our little one was younger and while it wasn't cheap, we got our money's worth out of it.

I may have missed it, but did you do any sound proofing for your floor? I'm trying to determine what to do for my 2nd floor bonus room in that area.

My build is above the garage I am not calling it a bonus room because I designed the house (along with builder and architect) for that area to be a theater. I lowered the roof of the workshop to accommodate the front of the theater to be 12” lower than the rear which is on level with the rest of the upstairs. In the first few pages of my thread you will see I used acoustical caulk in all of the cracks and holes between the garage and the theater. We also installed a second subfloor of ¾” Tung & Grove OSB using green glue and again every crack had acoustical caulk. The ceiling of the garage was spray foam and I had electrician put putty pads on the light fixtures and outlet for the openers. If there was living space down there I would have used R19 vise the spray foam and did a DW/GG/DW on the ceiling of that space with IB-1 clips.

Here you can see the green glue on the 3/4" T&G and also the caulk on orginal sub floor and second sub floor going in.

we also put OSB on the 2x12 used to lower the work shop ceiling

Going way back but do you know where this pic is from? My wife would like something like this for my theater so I'm hoping there is a build thread for it.
I will have to see if I can find it. It may have been in the show me your completed room thread and the person did not have his build linked in his name
