It is like this on all three tubes of my Sony 1252. I do not want to watch to much until I fix this so I don't burn in a nice line across all tubes! Thanks guys.

Do you have a top blanking adjustment? If so, just adjust it down until the line is blanked out.
Tried that already...it seems to be outside of the blanking area...in other words I keep blanking until the picture starts to disappear and the line still remains.

I am using blanking to cover up some lines on the left side though.
Would this have anything to do with running a neuneo at 1080i through one of those cheapy xblasters from kds. I think they are only good up to 480p but I do see an improvement from sending 1080i to it rather than just 480p.

It looks kinda like a scan rate thing because it is a line but then there are a faint zig zag pattern to the top line of the image. Like scan lines that are getting spread out...
This is normal on all 12xx pj's.

If your screen border doesn't soak it up, you can also place electrical tape directly on the tube face to blank the AKB line out.
AKB line. Part of the normal operation of the projector.

Ok, so this is normal. Good I guess. Although I would be worried about putting electrical tape right on the tube surface! Seems like that could cause more problems then solve. But it may be the only solution...

If this is normal it just shows how much I have to learn......
Greg, I have a Sony 1251Q and it does the same thing. When I have time I'll put a piece of tape over the area that generates the light line.
I get why you would put tape over the line to have it not show up above your screen but wouldn't the line burn a line into your tube!? what happens if I re-setup my projector in a more 4:3 mode then I have to contend with this burnt line in all my tubes?

If it isn't a big deal I will just put some Electrical tape over it and move on...
The line is outside of the active image. "Line burn in" is not an issue unless you decide to change from a 16:9 screen to a 4:3 screen.

In any case, the AKB line will be there (unless the AKB is disabled which will result in a dim pic on a 12xx) so just make a decision on screen type, set up the pj, and then if you find that the line is visible off the screen,go ahead and blank it out with electrical tape on the tube face.
is it "signs"?
the strip is normal to that model....(As far as I know! but then again I could be wrong!)

I can't imagine you could do anything about it...unless you are a guru like MP!!!
