I've seen the platforms (ones like those) used with turntables before.

The other stuff... eh...

This is almost as bad as elevating speaker wires above the floor. Yikes!

Now, now.

It's not a scam, it's a tweek. ;)
If they really think it's a tweek, is it still a scam? ;)
this is no more than some equipment manufacturers change a few capacitors, resistors, rearrange control knobs but keep basic circuitry the same and call their products a new model

LMAO!

Seriously, when I stumbled onto that site, it actually made me angry, because I know there are plenty of suckers out there spending that $50 for that CD, plastic cover "sound improvement" thingie...

Unreal.

i have similar tweak utilizing those old 5.25 computer diskettes and cut into the size of the dvds. i place them on top of the dvds and work for my crappy dvd player with overall improvements in sound stage and dynamics. it does not work on my cd transport though as it is a more than $2000 piece of equip with proper damping and laser lens

got to try to see if it works. any return policy there?

no need to be angry :) this is just a hobby and should not be taken too seriously
LOL... "Just trust your ears." And hopefully you never listenned to the discussion of placebo effect in science class. :)

...but only when dancing barefoot, in the rain, under a full moon.

I see, if your CD transport was only $1999.00, then this 'tweak' would work?

BTW...all CD players have alens in front of the laser....yours is not special in that way.
yes if under 1999 it will probably work

have you tried?

It will also work if you got a $2499 player on clearance for $1999. http://www.click-smilies.de/my_smile...s1/naughty.gif

PS - "cpu8088 - Old and Slow !!!" - I found this link on Intel/AMD 8088 CPU . Introduced in 1982. Then there's a hyperlink that says "Back to Museum".
entertainment is what that is
i said probably

it depends on whether you are using sony, pioneer, philips or other cd transport mechanism inside your equip

if you have not tried how can you make judgment?

been using the first generation pc with 8088 chip, so i have been around that long lol

Common sense ? Not being gullible?
or you are afraid of trying new ideas?

gullible means outlay of big cash. I dont believe an old 5.25 inch diskette is worth that much nor the time involve in cutting into the size of the dvd

It does?...that may be where your problem is.

Gullible means covering an optical disk with an old floppy...and thinking it will have any effect on the playback of the disk....that's what gullible is.
well i have tried and noted improvements and like to share this cheap tweak with all

i understand that some people cannot distinguish good from bad in audio or video as we all conceive differently

if you dont tweak how can you be sure your equipment is running at a higher efficiency?

this is part of the fun from this hobby. do what you want to improve instad of upgrading equip that often. or it is not your hobby at all.

if you are using high end equip you will notice there are lots of tweaks and modifications done by the designers as distinct from mass production ones

have you been using a cd/dvd transport with top loading clamp on? is this a scam or not? have you tried?

Well, this platform is the very same old BS.

I have a friend that uses a flask full of sand on top of his turntable. I recently recommended him to try it with five or six more sand particles in order to improve the image and soundstage.

BTW, he always trust his ears :D
IMO, only the Sony hockey puck works, but too bad it's proprietary. The one I want to test against it is on loan for the Stanley Cup. ;)
