I like my HDTV & Computer whose fan shuts off while the F38310 HDTV fan doesn't. Without having to mention your HDTV brand name.

How many pull the plug stopping the 24 hour running fan until your ready to watch a DVD movie again? :)

I do not. I also have a 38310 and believe (maybe incorectly) that the shock of totaly disconecting and reconecting the power to the TV would be harmful to the set.

I do not.

I agree with Jordan420 about the constant 'hard' power cycle of the set. It may be bad for the electronics in the long run (who knows?).

I do not find the fan as being loud or annoying. Usually when the TV goes off, I go to bed. During the day and not watching, I do not even notice the fan noise.

Typical household air conditioner pulls more of a load than a HDTV does IMHO, and AC last for years. I have a remote controled one and the remote hasn't fried yet either in the 3 years of using it. I'll let you know when my F38310 is ready for the grave yard 'seen' in Eddie and the Cruisers DVD.:)
