Ragnarok was terrible - a total comedy with zero tension. I do not want Waititi, and I don't want Portman as the new Thor.
I'm sorry they're moving in a direction you don't want. You should probably skip this one. As far as Ragnarok having zero tension, I thought the scenes featuring Hela garnered some decent tension/stakes: When she destroys Mjolnir fairly easily, that was pretty crazy. When she disposes of countless Asgardians at will, it was pretty heartbreaking. The fight on the rainbow bridge featuring Hulk and Hela's giant hound was pretty suspenseful, not to mention when Thor shows up after harnessing his power more effectively (pretty amazing scene there). Then, the ultimate escape on the ship + the destruction of Asgard and Hela.

The movie definitely leaned towards many funny moments including one of my fav MCU lines ever ("We're friends from work!), but some serious stuff definitely happened. It clearly stands out from the rest of the MCU films in style and tone, but it worked very well for me.

The problem with that movie and MCU in general, with exception of a few movies, is that you know there's a one liner joke coming every min on so, no matter what the stakes or whats going on, and no one is every in any danger. Compare this to the constant tension buildup in Winter Soldier where Bucky is actually a credible threat and you can feel how unstoppable he is.

I just think Waititi is such a wrong choice for this material. The last thing needed was a director who likes comedy.

I totally respect your opinion. Do you feel like you've wasted your time watching all these movies? It seems like you're guaranteed not to like them.

I dunno. I think intelligence and acting chops can be pretty "hot" in their own right. Plus, I kinda dig her physical appearance as well. Different strokes I guess, but I think it's cool to live in a time where leading ladies don't all look like Playboy centerfolds from the '80s.

Nothing of the sort. Enjoyed all of them and I have bought quite a few of them. In the end they are still good movies, its when being compared to the top MCU movies that I call them worse. Its bound to happen in a series with 22 movies.

I think she's hot enough. I just don't like her that much in movies. She's too clean and proper. I want a hot dirty girl as a superhero.

No comment from me, but a quickie search.....

There’s a good chance that Marvel is hiding a spoiler in plain sight. It makes sense that Thor would lead the Asgardians – that’s Thor’s job – but Thor relinquished that role and he’s about to relinquish the mantle of Thor, too. Along with Valkyrie being confirmed as bi, maybe Jane will, too, and the pair will fall in love and rule over New Asgard.

But .... Jane is a mere human with 100-ish year lifespan, while the Asgardian Valkyrie has a 5,000 year lifespan?
There’s something amiss with the logic.
