Thoughts on getting satellite speakers for the rears

So I am upgrading my 5.1 system soon and I wanted some opinions on the rears. Currently I have some cheap Dayton Airs for the fronts and rears, a polk s35 for the center, and a PB 2000 for the sub. I should also mention that I do almost 0% music listening through these speakers and the room is a 14x14 open floor plan that opens up to the kitchen and a hallway to the rest of the house.

After doing a lot of research and coordinating that with my budget and buying options, I have decided I'll probably go with SVS Prime bookshelfs and center. This is because I have a Nebraska Furniture near me and they offer 36 month 0% interest financing with the card I have and I can just tack the speakers on to the couch my wife is already getting. Might try to get a second sub as well.

My question is whether or not I should keep the rears I have, get the prime bookshelves, or opt for the cheaper satellites for the rears. I don't know how much of a difference having satellites for the rears would make versus the other two options.

I'm also open to any other suggestions y'all got.

I’d advise against the Prime bookshelves.

Find something with a neutral response. Th Primes are not, and can be very fatiguing. Though if you are used to Dayton Air’s you might not have a huge problem with them.

There are lots of options out there, better performing ones that actually cost less.

Example: Ascend CBM170’s or Chane A1.4’s.

Unfortunately, I'm limited to what Nebraska sells because the 36 month financing is the only way to convince my wife to let me upgrade the speakers.

Do they sell the SVS Ultra bookshelf speakers? If you can get a good price on them they would be a worthwhile upgrade and better than the primes. I'd use them up front for L/R speakers and just use the Daytons as rears. They do see pretty expensive on SVS site tho.

They do have those, and I did think about that. However, most of what I've found said the difference isn't that big of a deal if you are not listening to music, would you say that it would be?

Also I'm really wanting to ditch the Daytons because they don't look that great and was thinking maybe the satellites may look better as they are so much smaller. Is there any real reason to be trying to get higher quality speakers for the rears?
