I sent my VPL-CX1 in for dead pixel repair (mine only had 60 hrs so far when I noticed 3-4 bad pixels. They ordered 2 new sets of prism/panel but were not perfect (dead pixels present although brand new) so they ordered a 3rd set from another supplier. This last set is taking over a week so far (altogether my projector has been gone since 8/14). So I complained and demanded a loaner. Yesterday they overnighted a brand new VPL-CX1 with perfect panels (no dead pixels) with zero hour on the lamp as a loaner. I hope they take their time on my projector since this loaner is perfect 
Sony is still slower than NEC with their Instacare Warranty but at least they're trying. I hope they can't fix mine so I can keep this one
