Does it even have a home video distributor?

There's only one DVD release, no word on HD. OAR was 2.35:1. DVD is 1.85:1.

I rented it from Netflix. While I appreciated the dark quirkiness, I'm not planning a purchase. Think Alice in Wonderland with rotting corpses, unappealing sex and an overabundance of weirdness thrown in to amuse the director at the expense of the audience.

It was one of those movies where I admired the guts and imagination of the director without enjoying the experience of watching it. YMMV.

The PAL DVDs released in Europe are apparently 2.35:1.

I don't think it's that simple. After a little research I found a lot of confusion on various forums. Based on what I can gather there are multiple PAL releases, most in 1.85:1, and only the two-disc Revolver release is in the UK is at a near-correct OAR of 2.25:1.

I'll wait for reviews before taking the plunge (too many things could be issues... sound pitch, aspect ratio, etc.)

But this is looking more and more like a must-buy. Thanks for the specs, pkde!

This movie has already been confirmed to be coming to HD DVD in Germany I believe. I'll post a link as soon as I find it.
