I have a Samsung 4675 720p DLP RP. I am looking to upgrade. I am moving the Sammy to the den and need a new one for our large Bedroom.

I am looking at the new Sony KDS-50A3000. It seems to be a very good choice for a RP unit and the price is right!.

Now if I go LCD or Plasma, This is were I am getting a little frustrated with all the excellent choices.

The Samsung LN-T4665F, Panasonic TH-50PX75U, 50" 1080p plasma HDTV , Pioneer PDP-5080HD and the Panasonic TH-50PZ700U are on my list.

I want to spend no more than 2300.00.

I watch alot of SD TV as well as HD programing. I also have a PS3 for blu-ray.

Your help would be appreciated!

I was deadset on gettin the 60in Sony A3000 but I ended up gettin the LN-T4665F about 2 months ago. Honestly it depends on how far you wish to sit really. While the Sony RP has 120hz over the 4665F the 71F Sammy model has it. I don't need it really but the reason why I got the Sammy LCD is cuz I like to sit pretty close and for any RP even the A3000 its looks pretty bad under at least 11 feet. But if can at like 12 feet the A3000 is a good choice. The set itself looks a bit oldfashioned though.

If you are going to go with the A3000 you had better hurry up because Sony has shut down the production and have exited the RPTV business.

I was going to go with Samsung DLP but the 07 models seem to have a lot of problems. I was real serious about the LN-T4665F, maybe even the 52" version but after watching a local broadcast for 45-minutes in a store I knew I would not be happy with the motion blur. That and the 46" was not really any bigger than my 32" tube I wanted to replace. They had a 55" A2020 playing, also local and the SD was much better than the samsung. At that point I decided to throw caution to the wind and placed a pre-order for the 50A300 for the upgrades over the a2020. My biggest regret, the 50A3000 is $1,000 cheaper now. I sit just over 7' from my 50"

I recently upgraded my Samsung HLS-4676S 720P set to a KDS 50A3000. My Samsung is now in my master bedroom. I was considering a Panasonic TH-50PZ750U. The Sony was on sale here locally for a one time Super Bowl special at an extremely attractive price and I just couldn't pass it up. I think the Sony XXA3000 series gives an impressive performance for dollar value in an HDTV set. I certainly would love a Panny TH-50PZ750U or a Pioneer Kuro but I have no regrets with my new Sony. It is outstanding with Blu-Ray and high quality HD scaling down to to okay for SD.

I made the jump about 1 hour ago for the TH-50PZ750U.

I purchased the Panny and got the Panasonic DMPBD30K Blu-ray disc player and OmniMount 1N1L PLATINUM Low-Profile Universal Flat Panel Mount all for $2249.00 shipped @ Vanns.

I talked to a guy named "Noel" for over a hour and he was awesome!

I was torn between the SAMSUNG FP-T5084, PIONEER PDP-5080HD and the Panasonic TH-50PZ750U.

I agree with all of you on the KDS 50A3000 or the 55a3000. They are fantastic for the money. I upgraded from a Samsung HLS-4676S also. I loved that to. It is going in the Den . I just did not want another Rear Projection.

The Panny is going in the Bedroom!
