I recently upgraded my 32" trinitron to a Sony GWIII LCD 50" after a long research period. I nearly bought a Mitsubishi RP CRT and the Toshiba looked good too. The deciding factor for me was angle viewing (I'm in a 1bdrm, not angles are sharp) and SIZE. If you have room for a RP CRT that is 2.5-3 feet deep, plus 50 " or so wide you should be fine. Measure your viewing area and then go to brick and mortar and check viewing distance and angles yourself and make sure you'll be happy with the result.
