Hi all,
I'm looking to replace my Samsung pn50b550 plasma with something bigger. Right now it's mounted above a fireplace (not ideal, but it's the best spot for my living room).
I've been fumbling around the Internet looking at reviews, and it seems Samsung and Panasonic are still the better of the brands, even though LGs look pretty (design wise).
I'm going to end up buying a 60" I think. I don't know if jumping from 50 to 55" will be much, and I think a 60" will fit okay in the space I have (since my current plasma has a 3" deep bezel around the sides).
I know the Panasonic vt series is very highly regarded, but given that it's not available in 60", I think it's out of the picture.
The Thx mode of the GT series is appealing, as I don't plan on having a calibrator come in and mess around with it...
But Samsung has been good to me in the past.
Basically I'd like to know if one brand is better than the other? Is there a model I can take out of the box and enjoy without having to pay for calibration? Is plasma burn in still an issue?
And as this will be my first 3d tv, any tips on what to look for?
Thanks,
Gizzy
