The replacement projector which has been installed is the Titan 1080P Dual 3D Ultra...

Before I can comment fully on the Titan's performance I am awaiting one last detail from DPI.

What I can comment on so far is that Peter of Cinemarax has provided great assistance in the initial set-up, that actually required a visit from a DPI field engineer. DPI customer service is great and the engineer was at my house within 3 days after the initial install, I happen to think Peter had great influence in this customer service assistance, thanks Peter.

Some initial comments:

1)The projector should be installed inverted to get the maximum lens shift and also fall within the lens shift specifications. This was a breeze to accomplish as the projector can simply be turned upside down and the feet can be unscrewed from underside to top and still mount the projector inverted on a shelf.

2)There is only one DVI input and for best results the cable needs to be an HDMI to DVI, I had less than stellar results with an HDMI cable into a HDMI to DVI adapter. Also depending on cable length a HDMI repeater may be required.

3)The ILS system is functioning perfectly so far, simply save a Preset with current lens focus, shift, and zoom and the ILS location is in the preset memory.

4)Lumen Output AND On/Off Native contrast are quite extraordinary.

5)I want to reserve final comment on Picture quality until we hear back from DPI, but I can say I really like what I see so far but again this may be improved so no comment yet.

6)3 D capability, now this looks killer and I have ordered a 3 D Gamer computer just to check out the 3D Dual 16 Bit inputs, stay tuned...

7)FastFrame technology: 120HZ, Motion Blur Reduction, I have had no time to play around with the many settings of this technology

Right side up it fit, we just extended the 2 x 4's however for best results the projector needed to be inverted so the lens shift was up instead of down, and also dropped a few inches so minor reconstruction of the platform was needed.

Well that is good news.

Time to let the HD6K-M thread RIP, will be posting here from now on

LJG,

I just sent my Titan Ref off to get the ILM upgrade. I have been seriously looking at the 3D models.

What made you decide on the Titan 1080P Dual 3D Ultra Contrast over the Titan Reference 1080P 3D.

Thanks for your input and feedback.

Thanks for your input and feedback.

A few things influenced my decision:

1)Fast Frame Motion Blur Reduction

2)Dual Flash 3 D processing

3)120 Display Output

And last but not least Peter had the unit on its way to him so immediate delivery.

Just wondering what DPI charges to upgrade from Titan Reference to Titan 3D?

More Notes:

The Dual 1080P 3D is very very loud even with the silencer in place, I will need to rework my Hood/Hush contraption to keep the loud whirling noise from entering my media room. 70 Db reading at Projector.

Playing around with the Fast Frame insertion I think I like what I see but the Yellow Notch Filter needs to turned off when the Fast Frame is active. The FastFrame works only for 60hz sources and looks reaaly good with live HD fast moving sports.

The ILS system is slow and steady as compared to the HD6K-M, it is probably a few swconds slower but possibly a little more accurate, time will tell.

Will have full notes end of next week as far as:

1)Lumen Output

2)On/Off CR

3)In room Ansi

Lon do you plan on adding a gaming PC and testing some of the 3d games?

If so Im looking forward to your findings. I may add this capability to my existing PC

and buy a flat panel for 3D if the games look promising.

Congrats on your new toy it sounds like a nice leap in performance

Im more of a sim gamer and there's plenty on that list to keep me busy for a long while.

I hope once 3-D movie content becomes available the list looks half as appetizing, cant wait.

For the rest of us poor souls without the proper gear we might have to have a gaming/movie session over at Lon's

Yellow? This is interesting. The Notch Filter in my Titan 1080p250 unit is "greenish", completely spoiling the image. I never understood why the filter is "green", yellow does at least make some sense...

Maybe there's something wrong with my machine?

Just an expression that carried over from my HD6K-M, meant to say the filter for Xenon like color, the colors need to be adjusted for when the filter is in place vs Non-filter.
