Is Titanic going to be on hddvd or Bluera? The production was from Paromount and Fox. Please, don't make fun of me for liking this movie. James Cameron got the historical details down right to a lot of the passengers that were only seened for a part of the movie.

IIRC Fox took the international distribution rights and Paramount took the U.S. rights. Both DVD releases were by Paramount so we may see this on HD-DVD.
I liked the movie and think it will look fantastic on HD-DVD. There's alot of eye-candy in that film.
THat is good. I am not getting rid of the collectors edition. I do want it for hddvd.

For a joke about this stupid format war. I thought the first hour and 35 minutes would be on hdvd and the next hour and 35 minutes on Blueray.

Perfect. Paramounts half and Foxs half. LOL
Paramount released a new DVD not that long ago, so we could very well see a HD-DVD soon, I'd buy that for a 1$

I want Titanic on HD-DVD as soon as possible. I think with the recent re-mastering for the SD se this should be a no-brainer for Paramount along with the Indiana Jones series and, of course, Star Wars.
I'm glad you started this thread HDDVD RULES because I want this movie on HD-DVD bad. Its one of my favorite movies ever. On the HD-DVD side though look how long it took to get the crappy first DVD? Then look at how LONG it took to get a great SE TITANIC DVD? It took forever! And they just released it not long ago so I think it will be FOREVER before we see TITANIC on HD-DVD unfortunatley. If HD-DVD was smart they would force Paramount to release it. It would be a giant splash for HD-DVD to have the biggest movie in history on thier format. J.H.
Wasn't Paramount promising to do both formats? Maybe? Couldn't it be possible that it might end up on both formats...?
I wonder how well this movie will look because of length? What's the longest HD DVD? Has Paramount even released anything anywhere yet? Is Star Wars not belong to 20th worldwide?

I'd buy Titanic on HD! I should retire those 35mm prints. Too hard to deal with due to length of the film.

It wouldn't bother me a bit to have it on 2 discs. I know some folks hate any "flippers". It did have an optional intermission at some showings. I saw it that way in the cinema. I can't remember if or what might have been on-screen during the intermission....
Dudes,

BTW I thinking Titanic might have it's special features in HD. If any of you have a Xbox hard drive, then you'll know that there's some HD footage of special features from Titanic.
Play the special edition on the a! at 1080i. It looks awesome. After you watch it, imagine the dvd encoded in high definition.
I guess my recording from HBO-HD will have to do until then.

Non-anamorphic? Laser disc quality? No thanks. Imagine the uproar if they released it in 480i extra on an HD format.

.....there is actual footage from the movie, about 3 scenes, in HD, included on the hard drive of the Xbox 360 to demonstrate the quality & realism of High Definition (as Cameron states in an intro)

The "special features" footage included as well (which Cameron states is from the Special Edition DVD), is not in HD though.
