I am using DishNetwork as a satellite service, and I would like to set a Hard Drive based recorder to record a show by using a guide ( I don't want to mess with timers ). ***I don't want to pay any monthly bills for this device***

I was wondering which video card/tv tuner to get, one that works with S-video, does this work with the audio also?

Also, is there software which cordinates with the internet or such to make a guide so I won't have to set timers to record shows?

Lastly do I have to have a monitor hooked up to this computer or could I just use the tv as an output? (Maybe pcanywhere would work if monitor is required??? via ethernet)

Thanks in advanced, Jeff

Go to your favorite search engine and look up ShowShifter and SnapStream. Decide

which of these two you like, buy it and look up the software's supported

video capture card list, research the cards, buy a card and you are done.

For video output to a regular TV, you can use the ATI RADEON cards which have

TV out (SVideo & composite).

Yes, Timbuktu and PCAnywhere would work.
