TMS adds Canadian TV listings, will Sonicblue follow?

Tribune Media Services, the provider of TV listings for ReplayTv (and Tivo) recently completed their takeover of www.clicktv.com by converting users to their www.zap2it.com listings.

Now for the first time, www.zap2it.com users can type in a Canadian zipcode to receive satellite/cable listings from Canada.

Will Sonicblue (or Tivo) be next to finally add these listings to their set-top-boxes?

My WebTV has had the Canadian listings available for 2-years now, but MSN-TV is definitely not a personal digital video recorder although it's "search listings" is convenient and it can schedule recordings to a VCR requiring -ugh, videotape.

Not entirely true. Zap2it.com has provided Canadian listings for a long time---certainly as far back as April or May when I first started stripping listings, and probably much longer.

However, their Canadian support left a little to be desired, especially w.r.t. satellite listings. Their support for Canadian satellite services (Bell ExpressVu and StarChoice) is new. They've always had listings for regular cable providers (certainly the ones I've looked up) and LookTV.

Don't hold your breath. I suspect it would cost more money, and probably isn't worth the expense to them given the small number of current (and potential) users.
