I am going to be building a blackout cloth screen for use with my 4805. I plan on painting the entire screen wall flat black. With the wall already being black, would anything be served by also building a frame wrapped in velvet around the screen?

The velvet will absorb the light just slightly better than the flat black paint.

Cover your whole wall with the velvet instead.

I painted my screen wall flat black, hung B/O cloth screen on wall and it looks great. There is NO light spill or any reason to frame screen with velvet. Save your money.

I second Jim on this one I painted my whole wall black and hung an unbordered blackout screen and I am very happy with the results.
