so I already have bose 700 and sub, and have experience with high end audio studio monitors 1500/pair, i can tell none of these soundbars have good drivers.. Sonos is ok, cant' say I'm blown away.. I may say the bose actually have higher fidelity drivers and pushes good air with clarity, sonos is just loud and low level detail sounds are not very clear if kept on on volume, must keep it all medium/high volumes.
  • I do like the style and simplicity of the ARC and that it tells you if you are actually in atmos or 5.1..
  • Have no experience with their customer support, bose has been pretty good to me and very responsive when needed.

Also having issues as my q80R +xbox series X.. , unable to get full atmos output in this setup from xbox due to tv without hdmi 2.1 port. I'm not planning on actually getting physical media but was curios on how atmos works in games.

With the 950a how at around 1K new.. and having several hdmi ports, will I gain anything from going form Arc to samsung or some other bar?

I did have Q90R soundbar back when it came out and the sub and rears barley had output, sub had none.. So samsung quality 50% hit miss. ?

  • Will the 950a step up or down, I know its value is going to be 300$ on used market in 1-2 years.
  • how buggy is the 950a, ?

Here is a review on av forums

A lot of users prefer the sound of the Samsung as it more impressive and now supports a EQ and supports all the formats Inc Dts dtsx.

Klipsch cinema bar 1200 looks good on spec.

LennyX: Some time has passed since you made this post. Have you looked at the Bose 900 with Atmos support?

You comments about the Sonos product are accurate in my opinion. Sound is no where as nice as the Bose speakers. Just loud!

I found Bose support to be very good. The Bose forum is gone but their web sight looks pretty comprehensive and there are live agents via phone and chat.

I have lots of Bose gear dating back to 2010. Just got hooked on the sound and quality of the product I guess.

Bose has poor atmos compared to q950a/LG 11, but bose has a good punchy and clear overall sound, the drivers/tech they use is a step above. Q950a is more room filling however, good if you want to hear a 30 drivers working and putting out similar audio, audio is also clear, q950a would be a good bar for 1,000$ or under.

i have no interest in the ARC, nothing special about the unit except its a clear design , but poor center speaker and mediocre overall performance
