Just to share some encouraging news.
Well today I went downstairs to do a few touch up on my NEC 6PG.
Well, when in Fine-dot mode I noticed that my red weren't a tight dot any more.
Over the weekend I got a CS-1 scaler and had to run the projector at contrast 57% rather than 45%. This increase in contrast affect my red crt not to be sharp and distort the dot (In dot -fine mode).
Well I increased the contrast to 100% and did an astig on the red; the blue and green looked okay (plus I didn't want to be there for several hours).
This is the first time I have done the astig at contrast at 100%. For some reason I always did it at 50%. Dont ask why..
The dots were nice and round at 100%. When I started to decrease the contrast they got tighter and tighter.
Now I run my contrast at 73% and the image does not bloom and the image is even more 3D than I have ever seen. The blacks didn't appear washed out and and the colors were very deep and rich.
I just watched Shrek and it is the best I have ever seen it.... Period.
I was floored.
Thanks,
clopez
