I was in another room with my TV and sound system tuned to our local NBC affiliate, WRC-DT channel 48-2, when The Tonight Show came on a few minutes ago. My reciever was turned up to a fairly high volume so that I could hear the State of the Union address and the gabfest that followed while I did some chores around the house.
I don't know about the rest of the country, but there was a HORRIBLE, screechingly loud burst of static that started as soon as our affiliate switched to the HD network feed of The Tonight Show. I was downstairs when this happened and raced upstairs to my sitting room to cut power to the speakers, but I'm afraid the loud burst of static may have damaged my front right speaker and the center channel.
What the @#$! happened? Did this happen elsewhere in the country, or was it only here on our Washington, DC affiliate?
