Originally posted by PJO1966 There is no mention of HD on CBS's site and TitanTV also has no indication of HD. My guess would be no, unfortunately. The good news is that those of us that get the east coast feeds now can watch it live on the west coast. |

Originally posted by PJO1966 I called D*TV and asked for waivers for all the channels. I did this when I first got service 4 years ago and got ABC. I tried again when they started carrying CBS in HD. I asked them to submit waivers for all the networks except ABC and I got CBS. If only I could get Fox & NBC I'd be happy. The WB would be nice too. |
Originally posted by TonyW79SFV PJO1966, I'd be surprised that the LA stations here would be hesitant to approving distant net waivers since half of the distant net channels on D* (1/4 on E*) are LA channels. FYI, the WB is not part of the distant nets, same with UPN, so don't expect WPIX or WWOR from the tri-state area. Those are probably on spot-beams anyways. As for CBS HD on D* and E*, if you're local station is a CBS O&O, then the HD feeds are granted, no questions asked, but you only get one of the two (WCBS-DT/KCBS-DT). Another thing, waivers are not requested to the networks, only the local station that carries them, although technically, all our stations in LA are network owned (sans UPN). |
Originally posted by Allan Wells The Tony Awards will NOT be in HD this year. We are producing the graphics for the show...in 4x3 SD. |
Originally posted by J.Mike Ferrara That doesn't always mean that the broadcast will not have a HD feed. |
Originally posted by PJO1966 I checked with DirecTV's listings on the HD TiVo, and the Tony's are not listed as HD. The CBS site listed above didn't seem to specific either. Also, Titantv.com is still showing it as SD. |
