In my opinion, you can have a bit of overkill with a speaker purchase for a particular room. For instance, an Atlantic Technology 8200 system in a 10x10 room or Dunlavy towers in a small HT.

I've heard this statement thrown around by a number of people over the years, and I'm just wondering if you think there is any truth to it. Can a speaker really overpower a small room? I understand that a small speaker will naturally have a hard time filling a huge room, but is it possible that a large speaker will be unable to perform properly in a smaller space? At what point does it become too much? Would a set of something like Paradigm Studio 100's in a 14'x16'x8' room be too much?
