I'm also using my HD-A1 with a Denon 3806. Yesterday I hooked up my HD-A1 through to the 3806 via HDMI. The Dolby Digital Plus at 96kHz sounds great!

Took the Plunge!
Couldn't find the HDA1 locally in my side of Atlanta, so ended up ordering the XA1 from an AVS Forum sponsor 
I've been reading thru a lot of the threads so have a pretty good idea of issues, glitches, etc. But any tips on setup, and best choice of connections to a Pioneer Elite CRT RPTV would be greatly appreciated. The set does have a DVI connector and I use it for HDMI outputs from my Pio 59AVi player and D-VHS deck. I'm use an AVLinx DVI switcher. To get started, should I just use HDMI or hookup component just in case?
I may have to use the digital SPDIF audio connection until I can get a 5.1 analog switcher.
