I am thinking about either getting one of two older projectors, either the BenQ W600+ or the Viewsonic pro8100.

here are links to both of there specs:

BenQ http://www.projectorcentral.com/BenQ-W600+.htm

Viewsonic http://www.projectorcentral.com/ViewSonic-Pro8100.htm

They would both have to be used considering they are discontinued. The only real difference in the way I would have them set up is that I would buy a 100" screen for the Benq but I would build my own for the Viewsonic. If anyone has any other suggestions in the 350-600 dollar range that would be great.

Not sure how big of a screen you have, but there have been some specials on new Optoma hd20's floating around for about $500 (they are 1080p).

I would actually go with a used or refurb DLP in that price range. Some other options are a Refurb Viewsonic Pro8200 or an Acer 1080p DLP (h6500 I think is the low-cost model).

You might also check Ebay / Videogon / This site's classifieds for other used DLP's.

In this price range, DLP is going to be superior for most uses.
